ADD SOME MAGIC PAINT TO YOUR HOME!

We saw a shift with paint colors in 2017 towards more pigment choices. When ever you paint a wall in your home, it can change the whole feeling of the room. Paint connoisseurs are saying "move over greys and blues. Sage is taking over." Personally, I am not a fan of green walls, but am a fan of feng shui. Below is a list of colors to paint your home via feng shui to create a more inviting place to live.

Yellow is the color of sunlight, cheerful and uplifting yellow will always brighten any home or office. Yellow color also creates cozy, welcoming feng shui energy in your kitchen, living room or children's rooms. From hot sunflower yellow to pale buttery yellow color tones, the use of yellow colour is identical to the feng shui use of orange colour, as both are a gentle expression of the fire feng shui element.

Red is the color that carries the energy of the Fire feng shui element. Fire has always been a symbol of divine energy and can be both destructive and creative. Fire represents the energy of sun and life. A balanced feng shui fire element in your home will bring joy, excitement, and strong sexual desire. An imbalance of the same element will bring either fiery arguments, restlessness and even aggression (too much Fire) or a lack of energy and enthusiasm for life (too little Fire).

Green is the color of renewal, fresh energy, and new beginnings. Green is very nourishing to your health, as it calms your nerves and balances your whole body by bringing healing feng shui vibrations from Mother Nature. If you find a beautiful green color paint and decide on a green room in your Health & Family area,  do not stop at just the wall color, but be sure to bring at least two more decor details in a green that is somewhat different from your wall color. These details can be pillows, vibrant art, a sofa throw in a fresh spring green, a side table, etc.

Light blue is considered the feng shui color of harmonious expansion and gentle growth, while darker blue evokes the feng shui energy of deep calm, wisdom, and serenity. Great for Bathrooms and childrens bedrooms.

Deep blue colors should be used sparingly in the feng shui areas of South, Northwest and West areas of your home or office, and freely in the North, East, and Southeast. One of the most calming feng shui combinations is the combination of the blue and white color. It brings the happy energy of clear skies and crisp fresh energy of new beginnings.

Purple should be used with moderation. It is a very strong, high vibration color, the color of connection to the spiritual realms. In terms of energy centers of the human body, the purple color is connected to the higher energy center. Great for bedrooms.

If once you have painted your walls and things don't quite seem right, Add a few home accessories with a darker shade than the walls.

CURB APPEAL IS CRUCIAL!

Curb appeal is attractiveness of the exterior of an Edmonton residence as viewed from the street and is in the eyes of a buyer, an indicator of the initial appeal of a property. This is so easy to know what to do. Simply view your home and your neighbours homes from across the street and notice what needs attention.

Curb appeal can easily be accomplished by any number of methods including the installation of exterior decorations, repainting, extensive attention to the landscaping. Costs to increasing a home's curb appeal will vary. Below are some creative and inexpensive tips to attract more buyers into your home.

If you have a veranda, make it sparkle with a fresh coat of paint and add a couple of chairs with a small matching table. No Veranda? Add one or two plants near the entrance to add a splash of color.

Paint your front door a tasteful color you like and make it work. It’s all a matter of coordinating the door color with your home’s architecture and the other colors and materials on the house.

Change the hardware. Gorgeous hardware can make even the plainest door look very classy. Even your mailbox can make a statement! If your mailbox is rusty and falling apart, spruce it up or get a new one. Don't forget to wash those windows!

Remember, when determining the value of your Edmonton home, first impressions are crucial.

BATHROOMS ARE THE #1 SELLING FEATURE!

When buyers are home shopping, they check out your bathrooms. Below are a few helpful ideas to freshen up the spa area of your home and help save you some money.

Grimy bathroom walls are a major red flag to buyers. Here is an easy way to get rid of surface mold: Mix a spray bottle with one part water and one part bleach. Just spray it on the wall, and watch the mold disappear. Give it a fresh coat of paint, and your grimy bathroom will go from red flag to red-hot.

Don't replace a yucky shower door: Just scour it. A grimy glass shower door can really wash out your sale. Instead of replacing it, clean it with a mixture of one part muriatic acid and about 10 parts water. Scrub with steel wool. After wiping it down, reinstall the door and you'll have a shower that'll help you clean up at the open house.

Avoid dated tile by painting. Bathrooms sell houses, but dated tile in a bathroom doesn't. A low cost alternative to replacing the tile is to use paint. First coat the tiles with a high-adhesion primer. Next, brush on a special ceramic epoxy covering. For a fraction of the cost of new tile, you will have an up to date bathroom that brings in big bucks.

Add a few new towels, creative soap bars and scented candles. All of these items can be purchased at any dollar store.
